Deep, impenetrable red in colour, Osar is Masi’s red wine that fully expresses the character of the ancient Veronese grape Oseleta, rediscovered and carefully cultivated in Valpolicella. Its name holds a double meaning: “to dare, to take a risk”, referring to the successful experimental challenge, and “to shout with joy”, evoking the thrill of the first tasting.

This ancient native Veronese variety owes its dialectal name to the fondness shown by little birds for its berries—being among the last available before their migration south to warmer climates due to its late ripening. Known in the past but slowly forgotten, it was rediscovered by Masi in the 1980s.
